Kay Carpenter Goolsby departed this life for her heavenly journey on Monday, March 23, 2015 at Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville. A Memorial Service and celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 11 AM. Dena and Jason Hobbs will lead the service at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono. The family will meet friends from 10 AM until 11 AM at the Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Noah's Ark Sanctuary (www.noahs-ark.org), 712 L. G. Griffin Road, Locust Grove, GA 30248.

Mrs. Goolsby, born in Fort Knox, KY, was a graduate of Southwest High School and the former Macon State College. She was a Registered Nurse and worked at the Medical Center of Central Georgia and as Office Manager for her husband's OB/GYN practice from 1984 to 1990. She lived in Macon, GA most of her life except for the years her husband had his practice in Cordele, GA. She loved to travel with her husband and especially loved spending time at their second home in Helen, GA. Mrs. Goolsby was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Carpenter, her mother-in-law, Faye Goolsby, her granddaughter, Isabel Lee and her brother-in-law, Russell Bowden.

Survivors include the family she treasured, her husband, Dr. Louis Goolsby; her children, Sandy (Matt) Tout, Lisa (David) Lee, Emily (David) Ballengee and Eric Goolsby (Chase Mason); her grandchildren, Mattison Tout, Kinsley Tout, Avy Tout, David Lee III, Jonathan Lee, Autumn Ballengee and Annison Ballengee; her mother, Chessie Carpenter; her sisters, Joanie Bowden and Gina (Brian) Russell; her brother, Mike (Julia) Carpenter; father-in-law, Daniel Goolsby; brother-in-law, Robert (Diann) Goolsby and numerous nieces and nephews.
